Community Participation Weekend
In October 2019, the local community was invited to the Kendal Vision Community Participation Event to help shape a Vision for the future of the town. The event summary newsletter and Report Back Presentation can be viewed below in the downloads section. The views of the local business community and residents are vital in shaping the Vision. The Community Participation Weekend was an opportunity to share local knowledge and contribute to shaping the new Vision through facilitated workshops, walkabouts and hands-on planning groups. There was also a background exhibition setting out local issues and opportunities.
Report Back Presentation
After the public workshop days, the team analysed and summarised what the people of Kendal had considered. The consensus Vision was reported back at an evening presentation on Tuesday 8 October 2019.
The Vision for Kendal was published soon after. Packed full of images and illustrations, it reflects the views of the public, Kendal’s partners and stakeholders.
Kendal Vision Update Exhibition
In July 2022 Kendal Futures invited the local community to a Vision Update Exhibition and Presentation at Kendal Town Hall. The event was opened by Kendal Futures Chair Mark Cropper and showcased the projects and funding bids being led by Kendal Futures, which focus on quality placemaking and connections in the town centre. A number of Action Groups are being established to engage residents and businesses in taking forward key agenda items for a sustainable and prosperous future.
