Clare is an architect, urban designer and community planner. She has a particular interest in placemaking and is responsible for projects involving urban regeneration and the design of new settlements, urban extensions and neighbourhoods. She has wide ranging experience of masterplanning in the UK, Europe and USA.

Clare led the multi-disciplinary team responsible for masterplanning Chilmington Green, a 5,750 home new Garden Suburb for Ashford in Kent which won a Placemaking Award for Strategic Planning. She was responsible for the outline planning application and Design Code and is now working on detailed plans for the first phase of development including the District Centre.

Her international work has included leading the consultant team for The Liberties Local Area Plan on behalf of Dublin City Council, a regeneration masterplan for 136 hectares of Dublin’s south inner city which delivered an extensive public realm improvement strategy based around sustainable transport. She was also responsible for running Sweden’s first Community Planning process in Stockholm on behalf of the City Council, developing plans for new housing on an inner city site of high heritage value.

She has extensive experience of regeneration masterplanning and has worked with communities ranging from former mining villages in Yorkshire to inner city council estates in London and the Midlands.

Her architectural projects include the award-winning Nordica Apartments in Tower Hamlets, a sheltered housing complex at Makins Court in New Alresford, Hampshire and new council housing in the Lenton and Radford areas of Nottingham.

Other recent projects based on Garden City principles include South Worcester, a 2,450 home mixed-use extension to the city of Worcester; a 1,000 home extension to Uckfield; a 500 home sustainable new community at Kennett Garden Village, and a new village at Kingston Grange, in Warwickshire.

Clare is also an Academician with the Academy of Urbanism, and a Design Council CABE Built Environment Expert (BEE).
