Yat joined JTP as an Associate and Urban Designer. Qualified as an architect, he has twenty years of experience in residential and mixed-use projects that range from high-rise and high density urban developments to low density new settlements on greenfield and brownfield sites in rural and suburban settings.

His passion in placemaking, expertise in architectural design and skills in illustration have helped shape many successful masterplan projects, including the award-winning Dunsfold Park in Surrey and Chobham Farm in Newham, London.

At JTP, Yat is playing an important role to support masterplan designs across the office and help strive the best quality in placemaking and the most innovative approaches that maximise the value of the sites as well as the benefits to the local community and the natural environment. His skills and knowledge pave the way to problem-solving strategies unique to each development site. Since joining JTP, he has been working on designs for masterplans of different scales, including a 200 home development on the brownfield site of the former RAF Wisley Airfield, and a 800 home scheme for Key Phase 2 of Wintringham Park, part of the 2,800 home development proposals in St Neots, Huntingdonshire. His work has also helped successful bids in the past year for the 3,000-home new settlement in Otterpool Park, in Folkstone; the 360 home Phase 1 of Dunsfold Park, Surrey and a 380 home greenbelt development in Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire.

Yat is also a member of the Society of Architectural Illustrators. Drawing is both his hobby and profession, in the age of information technology and artificial intelligence, Yat believes that hand drawing is still an inseparable tool for architects and designers for hand movement is like a lubricant for the human brain, which is where the best ideas are conceived.

Our people are the heart of who we are.
