Many heritage regeneration projects involve the phased release of land or buildings that remain operationally active. JTP has extensive experience of exactly this working with organisations like Historic England. We have worked across former hospitals, military barracks and dockyards, designing phasing strategies that manage complex interface conditions and maintain operational continuity throughout the development programme. We undertake this aspect of work whilst ensuring each phase delivers a coherent place.

Contamination is a common challenge on former industrial, military and institutional sites, and understanding its extent and remediation cost is critical to viability. JTP work closely with specialist environmental consultants from an early stage to incorporate contamination constraints into our masterplanning. This ensures our design is technically deliverable and that remediation costs are properly reflected in the financial appraisal for every project.
