Crystal joined JTP as a Part II Architectural Assistant after completing her Master of Architecture at the University of Nottingham, where her thesis explored how design strategies in communal spaces can improve social interaction within public housing estates. Her research compared housing developments in the UK and Hong Kong, focusing on how adaptable shared environments can foster stronger community ties and enhance residents’ wellbeing.
Since joining the practice, Crystal has contributed to several projects, including Squires Lane, a community-oriented, residential-led scheme supporting early-stage design development and community engagement. She particularly enjoys using hand drawing and collage techniques to communicate design concepts in a clear and accessible way. Her growing interests lie in sustainable placemaking and socially responsive design, especially in relation to housing and neighbourhood regeneration.
Crystal is passionate about architecture that prioritises people and the ways they live and interact. Her academic and professional experience reflect a continued interest in public realm design and inclusive urban strategies. Outside of work, she enjoys visiting exhibitions, keeping active, and exploring new places.
