Ivana is an Associate Director at JTP with extensive experience in residential-led, mixed-use communities and strategic masterplanning in both the UK and internationally. Her work spans a wide range of projects and scales, from individual buildings and streets to neighbourhoods, towns, and cities. She is dedicated to designing places that bring people together and improve everyday life, with collaboration, user insights, and lived experience at the heart of her design process.
Ivana is especially passionate about masterplanning and the creation of fair and inclusive places that enhance daily life and nurture a sense of belonging. She believes that well-designed environments can encourage connection between neighbours, support health and wellbeing, and provide people with spaces where they feel safe, valued, and inspired. For her, good design is about much more than buildings – it is about creating the settings in which communities can thrive.
Within JTP, Ivana’s notable projects include the Phase 1 of Oaks, Prague where she worked to prepare a masterplan, then subsequently a Pattern Book and the design of housing typologies and individual buildings. A contemporary interpretation of a traditional Czech village, Phase 1 features the village square with a restaurant and deli, and two apartment buildings by JTP. The project was named as a finalist in the Building Awards International Project of the Year 2024.
Over the course of her career, Ivana has also worked on a large portfolio of work in Russia. She developed designs for JTP’s winning submission for an Eco-district in the Russian city of Kazan. One of the key designs was a housing typology inspired by multigenerational living, with two houses surrounding one courtyard. The design resonated with the local collaborators and subsequently the jury, who called the house, ‘Kazan-house’ and praised JTP’s responsive designs to their culture and customs. Ivana was also responsible for winning several international competitions in the region and the masterplanning a series of new large-scale settlements.
Alongside this project, Ivana also worked on the delivery of a new rural community at Ockford Park, Godalming delivering 262 new homes and innovative housing typologies; the first masterplanning phase of a new settlement; and will lead JTP’s strategic masterplanning at Chelmsford Garden Community in Essex.
Ivana is currently working on Dunton Hills, a new garden community in Essex that will bring forward 2,700 homes, together with a varied mix of uses and a carefully considered landscape setting. She is also leading on the Masterplan Framework for Sayers Common in Sussex, a project that will guide the delivery of up to 2,000 new homes alongside complementary mixed uses and an integrated landscape strategy.
Her contribution to the profession has been recognised on several occasions, including being longlisted in 2020 for the RIBA Rising Stars and shortlisted in 2021 for the Female Frontier Awards as Emerging Architect of the Year.
