Cillian Cassidy
Architectural Assistant
BSc (Hons) MArch

Cillian is a Part 2 Architectural Assistant who joined JTP after completing a Master’s in Architecture at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating with Distinction. Here, Cillian achieved the highest overall marks in his degree and received the Sir Charles Lanyon Memorial Award for Hand-Drawings of Outstanding Merit.

His thesis project, Chiaroscuro as Memory, was nominated for the RSUA President’s Silver Medal and focussed on the adaptive reuse of the Grade I listed Castle Ward in County Down, Ireland. Prior to this, Cillian’s dissertation investigated the gentrification of East London and the displacement of its residents, with a particular focus on the legacy of the London 2012 Olympics. The research examined how urban regeneration efforts have contributed to gentrification and explored the socio-spatial relationship between regeneration, gentrification and residential displacement.

Cillian has experience across a range of scales within the domestic sector, from private loft conversions and housing extensions to large-scale residential communities. Since joining JTP, he has contributed to several medium and high-density residential-led projects across London, including a mixed-tenure development in the heart of Kingston, west London, which aims to merge the area’s close-knit, community-driven ethos with the site’s industrial heritage. He has also collaborated on recent bid proposals across the city as part of the design team.

Outside the office, Cillian enjoys exploring new cities on weekend getaways. He is also passionate about fine art, particularly pencil studies and oil painting, and stays active through cycling and going to the gym.

Our people are the heart of who we are.
