Alp joined JTP as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant after completing his BA (Hons) in Architecture at Oxford Brookes University. His projects focussed on urban regeneration, with an emphasis on using reclaimed and regenerative materials while fostering community growth. For his final year dissertation, Alp proposed an additional stage to the RIBA Plan of Work, advocating for a thoughtful approach to the lifecycle of buildings – one that embraces the natural aging and evolution of structures as an opportunity to enhance their connection to the environment and community.
At JTP, Alp has primarily worked on the Chorley Levelling Up Fund, a project centred on rejuvenating the town with a new civic square and thoughtfully designed housing. This hands-on experience has enriched his understanding on how to create spaces that resonate with the local context and serve the community. Alp is particularly passionate about designs that not only meet practical needs but also contribute to a strong sense of belonging and wellbeing for their residents.
Alp’s passion for architecture is rooted in his belief that the built environment has a profound impact on society. He is driven by the potential to transform existing spaces into vibrant places where communities can flourish. He aspires to create designs that not only respect the past, but also inspire the future.
Other than architecture, Alp enjoys staying active through running and weightlifting. He also has a passion for cooking and reading, which keeps him grounded outside of work.
