Project Delivery
– The beachfront is extended outwards, culminating in a new marina – Marina City forms a new urban quarter focussed on business, innovation and leisure.
– The marina is supported by international-standard conference facilities, high-end hospitality, nightlife, a Design and Innovation Museum, and a yacht club.
– Two contrasting anchors structure the waterfront: the Festival Village near the city centre, designed for local community life and informal gathering, and Marina City at the southern end, a vibrant destination centred on business, innovation, and nightlife.
– Urban density increases progressively between the two anchors, transitioning in scale, character, and activity.
– Three themed districts – SoCo Playgrounds, SoCo Arts & Culture and SoCo Healthy Lifestyle –emerge along this gradient, each with a distinct identity, landscape character and functional mix.
– Three complementary routes link the waterfront end to end: The Lanes (urban, retail-led), The Boardwalk (leisure-oriented and beachfront), and The Green Wave (a biodiverse, meandering landscape corridor), offering varied speeds, atmospheres, and experiences.
– Key intersections along all routes are activated and punctuated by ‘Pops’ – landmark destinations and attractions, including concert halls, pop-up galleries, a local market, botanical gardens, university outposts, satellite cultural institutions and open-air cinemas, reinforcing identity and continuity across the development.
