The judges praised our workplace culture and commitment to our team, recognising JTP’s people-first approach, a dedication to nurturing talent and a strategic focus on the future and succession planning.
Our entry centred on JTP’s 30th Anniversary in 2025, a pinnacle moment we saw to strengthen our commitment to being an inclusive, progressive and future-focussed employer. Creating a representative workforce has always been a strategic priority for JTP, and the last year has brought meaningful progress. We have achieved a near-equal gender balance across the practice, with a 52% to 48% female-to-male split and strong female representation across all grades, including senior leadership. We have also made measurable progress in improving ethnic diversity, with 27.6% of our team identifying as being from ethnic minority backgrounds, supported by targeted recruitment partnerships and structured outreach programmes.
That progress is underpinned by transparency. Since 2019, we have voluntarily undertaken a Gender Pay Gap Audit, reflecting our belief that pay transparency is a matter of good practice and organisational accountability. The impact is clear with our mean gender pay gap now sitting at just 1.29%, down from 3.74% the previous year and representing an impressive reduction of 2.45%.
At a time when many practices are scaling back, JTP created nine new Part 1 roles in 2025 and has continued to recruit Part 1s again this year for our 2026-27 cohort, reflecting our core belief that nurturing the next generation of placemakers is a fundamental responsibility of those in our industry. Our 30th celebration further embodied this spirit and our anniversary publication ‘The Future of Place’ was shaped in large part by contributions from young people both inside and outside of our practice.
