Part of a phased redevelopment of the industrial brownfield site sits between Hounslow, Isleworth, and Twickenham, Phase 2 features a mix of 71 new homes ranging from one bedroom to three bedroom apartments in a six storey building. Homes benefit from a combination of amenity assets including a rooftop terrace, ground-level communal gardens and private terraces and balconies. A comprehensive landscape strategy and greening of the site also promotes a positive biodiversity net gain.

Once home to the iconic Roberts Radio factory, the proposals draw inspiration from the site’s industrial past, with the building featuring robust red brickwork in varying tones and patterns, punctuated by Crittall-style windows and grey metal balconies. The warehouse-inspired façade responds to the area’s heritage while establishing a contemporary identity that will stand the test of time.

Sustainability lies at the heart of the Wireless Factory’s vision. The design team created a series of design principles to underpin the proposals which included referencing existing assets, celebrating arrival and enhancing green buffers around the site. With environmentally friendly design taking priority in Dunmoore’s new build and refurbishment portfolio, several initiatives have been considered including the building forms to optimise the form factor, reusing existing building materials on site to minimise the loss of embodied carbon and landscaping and greening to promote biodiversity net gain, with an urban greening score of 0.4.
