Southall Waterside First Phase of Homes Receive Planning Approval

We are pleased to announce that our proposals for the first phase of homes at Southall Waterside in Ealing have received planning consent.

We have been working with St James West London (part of the Berkeley Group of companies) on the former Gasworks site, which sits alongside the Great Western Railway between the Grand Union Canal and Southall Crossrail Station, and the consent follows the approval of our revised masterplan for the site in January this year.

The first phase, located in the north east of the site, will establish three entrances to the site and provide 618 homes, including 186 affordable, to be delivered as part of the Mayor’s Southall Housing Zone. The proposed homes are arranged around a series of streets and public and communal spaces, derived from the existing streets to the north of the site. The buildings range from 3 to 10 storeys including a basement with 296 parking spaces, and will overlook the first phase of the Central Park, a distinct new landscaped spine linking east to west. Residents’ facilities including a gym, concierge and lounge also form part of the proposal.

Southall Waterside represents an opportunity to comprehensively regenerate a strategically important, large scale, underused brownfield land in West London which will bring significant benefits to the local community.

Construction for Phase A of the project is due to commence later this year.
