Planning approval for The Hamptons Lakeside

The final phase of The Hamptons, a new extension to the south of Peterborough known as The Hamptons Lakeside, has secured planning permission from Peterborough City Council.

The new neighbourhood, designed by JTP for CALA Homes, will provide 350 new homes ranging in a mix of sizes and typologies, and forms the final phase within the wider Hamptons masterplan. 

The site benefits from extensive natural surroundings, with a large lake to the south, and a new country park surrounding the north, east and west. The new neighbourhood will sit on top of a plateau meaning that new residents will also benefit from panoramic views out to the surrounding countryside. A network of new green pedestrian and cycle routes creates links to the wider Hamptons and Peterborough area.

Previously, the site was used as a brick kiln factory. Embodied heat within the ground from the old brick kilns means that there are two large ‘no build’ zones within the centre of the site. These zones will become two new parks, which have been named the Brick Kiln Parks. With these two central parks and the open space surrounding the site, every home will overlook an area of green space. 

JTP developed a range of bespoke housetypes that respond to the natural character and landscape of the site. This includes the Lakeside Villas - dual aspect houses with large windows and rear terraces creating extensive views over the lake.
