Phase 2 Bow River Village Awarded Planning Approval

JTP are delighted to have achieved Planning Approval for Phase 2 of Bow River Village. The Outline Masterplan for the scheme was approved in 2012 and Phase 1 is currently progressing on site.

The site sits between the Lea River and the A12, close to Bromley-by-Bow underground station. The proposals aim to revitalise the previously industrial brownfield site into an area that reconnects with the surrounding landscape.

Phase two comprises two blocks of 112 new homes, of which 35% will be affordable. The architectural approach creates robust brick buildings that continuing the dialogue of Phase 1. The roof line picks up on the industrial heritage of the area and will act as a striking feature along the popular towpath route. The riverside walkway will be revitalised and new public realm created for the local community to enjoy. Residents will benefit from a hierarchy of open spaces to provide a sequence of experiences including a network of informal ‘play on the way’ opportunities.
