New settlement extension at Maddoxford Lane receives planning approval

JTP’s masterplan for a new neighbourhood at Maddoxford Lane in Botley, Hampshire has received outline planning approval from Eastleigh Borough Council.

The 3.1 ha site, promoted by Wellbeck Land, lies to the south of Boorley Park, a 1,400 home village also masterplanned by JTP, which was granted outline planning approval in 2013. The JTP team took the opportunity at Maddoxford Lane to create a coherent natural extension to the adjacent Boorley Green and the consented proposals at Boorley Park.

The neighbourhood at Maddoxford Lane is based on a clear hierarchy of streets and spaces that respond to the site’s existing landscape features. Mature trees and hedgerows are retained and integrated with new planting to create an attractive, family focused environment.

50 homes are proposed in a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom houses, arranged in clusters with landscaped spaces and corridors creating a balance of permeability and enclosure. At the southern end of the site is a dedicated children’s play area for use by new and existing residents.
