Lenton Gardens shortlisted in RIBA Regional Awards 2018

JTP is delighted to announce that our urban renewal project Lenton Gardens has been shortlisted for an RIBA East Midlands 2018.

Lenton Gardens is the largest and most ambitious estate regeneration project in Nottingham, which has seen five 1960s high-rise buildings replaced with 145 council homes for rent. The mix of dwelling types which includes family houses, bungalows and apartments aims to create a multi generational community. At the heart of the neighbourhood, Palmer Court provides 57 self-contained apartments for older residents arranged around a secure courtyard garden.

The new streets reconnect the area to the surrounding street network, creating strong links through the site for pedestrians and cyclists. A triangular green space, incorporating mature trees, frames views of an existing church to the south, while to the north, two small mixed-use buildings create a distinctive gateway into Lenton Gardens facing onto a new piazza alongside the existing art-deco cinema.

Lenton Gardens is one of 15 projects shortlisted for the East Midlands region. The project will now be assessed by a regional jury, and the winners of the RIBA Regional Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Leicester on 17 May.
