To coincide with our 20th Anniversary we are pleased to announce – a change in name from John Thompson & Partners to JTP; the stepping down of John Thompson as Chairman and the launch of the new JTP website.

Marcus Adams, Managing Partner says:

"Founded in 1995, JTP is today a group of 14 partners with 95 staff across studios in London, Edinburgh and Hangzhou.

The formal renaming of the practice forms part of a long term succession strategy that has enabled the practice to evolve and grow, and reflects the significant and combined contribution of all the partners and staff in creating a successful and sustainable placemaking practice.

We are proud of managing succession over the last eight years, promoting the next generation of practice leaders ensuring the continuity of our ethos and values, and realising John’s commitment to see the legacy of the practice continue into the future."

John will continue to be an ambassador for JTP, supporting the work of the practice and continuing to pioneer Community Planning in China and other countries. As Honorary President and a director of The Academy of Urbanism, he will continue to promote best practice in placemaking both in the UK and internationally, celebrating the Academy’s 10th Anniversary in 2016.

To coincide with the renaming of the practice we are proud to launch our new website that illustrates the wide range of JTP projects across countries, cultures and climates, at scales from the city to towns, neighbourhoods, streets and buildings, creating new places and breathing life into old ones.
