JTP celebrates the achievements of Architect, Farhana Jiwa at this year’s RIBAJ’s Rising Stars

JTP is extremely proud to announce that Farhana Jiwa has made the longlist for the prestigious RIBAJ’s Rising Stars 2022 cohort which shines a spotlight on young, innovative practitioners from across the UK.

Farhana has been acknowledged alongside twenty-three other talented professionals who made the competition longlist, which this year showcases a wide variety of expertise from complex façade calculations to engagement.

Having recently qualified as an Architect, Farhana’s experience covers a variety of projects and scales at JTP; from detailed building design to large-scale masterplanning. She has played an integral role in developing the practice’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Policy and as an EDI Chair, she works closely with organisations like Blueprint for All to reach out to groups from disadvantaged backgrounds and promote architecture as a future profession.

Farhana is actively involved in the organisation and delivery of social value initiatives at JTP, including outreach events and local engagement with schools and the local community. Her work includes mentoring, organising architectural workshops, career insight talks and work experience opportunities.

Beyond her EDI and outreach work, Farhana is also a Health and Wellbeing Champion at JTP, a Part 3 Champion at the University of Westminster and a Young Urbanist at the Academy of Urbanism. These initiatives allow her to make an impact beyond architecture and inspire the next generation of change-makers.
