JTP appointed to create Placemaking Vision and Charter for Maidenhead Town Centre

JTP has been appointed by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to work with residents and stakeholders to draw up a Placemaking Vision and Charter for Maidenhead town centre. 

With several regeneration projects underway, and a number in the pipeline, it is important that a vision for the future of the town centre is created to ensure the town continues to develop and meet the needs of residents now and in the future. The new vision and charter will help to promote, guide and direct future change in the town.

Using their unique collaborative placemaking methodology, JTP has a wealth of experience in developing visions and strategies for towns and cities.

A key focus of the JTP’s work will be a Community Planning Day on November 23 at the Nicholson’s Centre when the community will be invited to take part in facilitated workshops, walkabouts and hands-on planning groups to co-create the vision and charter.

The new vision for Maidenhead will help guide a number of other future areas of work including updating the transport and parking strategies and future public realm design standards. The vision will also look to describe and illustrate the future of Maidenhead town centre and inform developers about the expectations and aspirations of the community.
