Graylingwell Park Shortlisted for Two National Housing Awards

Graylingwell Park, designed by JTP, has been shortlisted for two National Housing Awards 2013 in the categories ‘Best Large Development' and ‘Best Sustainable Development'.

Graylingwell is a former hospital site located to the north-east of Chichester city centre. The 34 ha site is designated as a Conservation Area and contains two Grade II listed buildings, a Scheduled Ancient Monument, 472 protected trees and is a Registered Historic Park and Garden.

Graylingwell Park, a scheme for joint clients Linden Homes, Affinity Sutton and the Homes & Communities Agency, involves the creation of a new neighbourhood on the hospital site, including 750 new homes – in a mixture of new and sensitively converted buildings – extensive landscape and amenity space, a new primary school and a large range of community and commercial uses. Once complete, Graylingwell Park will be the largest carbon neutral development in the UK.

To date, Graylingwell Park has received a number of awards including Best Sustainable Development at the What House? Awards; a Community and Residential Award at the CHPA Awards and Sustainable Larger Social Housing Project of the Year at the Sustainable Housing Awards.

The National Housing Awards recognises innovation and best practice in the affordable housing sector across England. Winners will be announced on 12 September 2013.
