Four JTP projects shortlisted in Planning & Placemaking Awards 2018

JTP is incredibly pleased to reveal that four of our projects have been shortlisted in this year’s Planning & Placemaking Awards

Southall Waterside, Ealing has been shortlisted in two categories: Award for Excellence in Placemaking at High Densities – a new category for 2018 – and Best Use of Brownfield Land in Placemaking. 

Southall Waterside is one of London’s largest and most significant regeneration projects, transforming a formerly inaccessible, underutilised and contaminated 45 hectare Southall Gasworks to capitalise on Crossrail investment and transform the local area, delivering a dynamic new village for Ealing.

Brunel Street Works, Canning Town has been shortlisted in two categories: Award for Excellence in Placemaking at High Densities and Best Use of Publicly-Owned Land and/or Property in Placemaking.

Brunel Street Works is an exemplary mixed-use urban quarter of 975 new homes in East London, reconnecting a severely constrained, 2.48 ha former GLA-owned site to the town and providing much-needed new housing in an innovative mix of tenures, equally split between private sale, PRS and affordable.

Alconbury Weald, Huntingdon has been shortlisted in the Best Use of Brownfield Land in Placemaking category.

At Alconbury Weald JTP, with Urban&Civic, are delivering the comprehensive regeneration of a 580 ha former airfield in a prominent location near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, to create a mixed use neighbourhood featuring 5,000 homes and integrated community facilities, including an Enterprise Campus for the region.

Central Winchester Regeneration has been shortlisted for the Award for Stakeholder Engagement in Planning.

JTP is delivering the regeneration alongside Winchester City Council, re-masterplanning the 4 ha historic city centre site to create a culture-led, mixed use, pedestrian friendly quarter, informed by an extensive collaborative planning process with the local community. 

As well as recognising outstanding professional planning work, the Planning & Placemaking Awards also reward excellence in planning-related activities such as placemaking, urban design, economic development, housing and regeneration.

JTP is proud to be recognised in the awards for the third consecutive year, and looks forward to learning the winners at a ceremony on 6 June.
