A Vision for Fejan Community Planning Weekend

A team from JTP are currently on Fejan in the Swedish Archipelago facilitating the 'Vision for Fejan Community Planning Weekend'.

JTP has been appointed by Sweden's FortIfikationsverket (Fortifications Agency) to work with islanders and other stakeholders to develop a new Vision for the island. FortV owns land on the north of the island, including von Dobeln, a former cholera isolation hospital, which has been boarded up and unused for 30 years. The agency would like to bring this fine building back into a new use and investigate other opportunities for appropriate investment, which could help resolve other service and infrastructure issues.

Public co-design workshops were held on 5 September 2015 and the JTP team are now working to analyse and summarise the outcomes and create an illustrated Vision and action plan for Fejan which will be reported back to the community on Saturday 12 September.

This will be the sixth charrette-based process for JTP in Sweden over the last four years and the second for the FortV.
