Chesil Street Community Planning Day – Proposal for a new Extra Care Home

The community were invited to the Chesil Street Community Planning Day to help consider a new Extra Care Home at Chesil Street.

Community Planners John Thompson & Partners have been appointed by Winchester City Council to facilitate the event.

The event comprised an exhibition (from 2pm to 9pm) setting out the background to the proposals, an afternoon walkabout and hands-on planning workshops to identify issues of importance and help the council decide how to take things forward. The two workshop sessions were held in the afternoon and in the evening, to give as many people as possible the chance to participate.

Following the Community Planning Day, the team from JTP will analyse and summarise the outcomes and develop a Vision for the site which will be reported back to the community at 7.30pm on Tuesday 18th March 2014 also at the Guildhall, Winchester. This Vision will then inform the Council on the suitability of the site and what the next steps should be.
