Blackbird Leys Community Planning Report Back

On Tuesday 18 June the local community was invited to the Blackbird Leys Community Centre to see how the ideas for the District Centre and the Knights Road site have begun to take shape. You can view the boards here and the broadsheet here.

Since March, we've been consulting residents and other stakeholders in Blackbird Leys about the future of the District Centre and land at Knights Road. Oxford City Council and Catalyst are working on proposals to deliver at least 250 new homes across the two sites, including homes for social rent and shared ownership, as well as improved shops, community and public spaces.

  • Over 90 people came to our first public consultation events in April
  • Over 60 took part in the Community Planning Days in May
  • Over 40 students from local schools took part in workshops during May
  • We’ve held pop-up stalls and attended meetings of community groups

This event was an opportunity to see how the ideas from all these conversations have begun to shape our plans for the District Centre and the Knights Road.

  • See what your community told us
  • See our initial ideas for the sites, and how you’ve influenced them
  • Hear about the next steps
