William Turner

Assistant Urban Designer
BA (Hons) MSc

William is an Assistant Urban Designer who joined JTP following his Master’s degree in Urban Design and City Planning at The Bartlett School of Planning (UCL). His final major research project consisted of an urban design toolkit responding to the pressures facing social landlords to improve the quality of communal spaces on smaller scale estates, as well as ways of building high-quality new homes on slack spaces.

Alongside his architectural background, William also brings a passion for sustainable design, transport and construction methods. At JTP, he has predominantly worked on Urban&Civic’s Manydown project where he is contributing to a new set of high-quality neighbourhoods on the western edge of Basingstoke. The scheme draws heavily from surrounding Hampshire towns and villages and is set within a rich and varied landscape.

Away from the studio William enjoys cycling, going for walks in both town and countryside settings, baking, as well as tending to his garden and countless houseplants! A lover of restoring anything old and mechanical, William is being kept busy and occupied restoring a nearly sixty-year-old classic car.
