Spiros Karavasilis

Architect
BArch (Hons) MArch PGDip ARB

Spiros in an Architect at JTP based in our London studio. He initially joined JTP in 2017 as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant and having completed his MArch at the University of Bath and gained more experience in other practices, Spiros returned to JTP in 2022 to qualify as an Architect.

During his time at JTP, Spiros has worked on a variety of high and low density projects in both urban and rural areas. His experience lies in both creating new places or re-imagining old ones, to respond to the local social, economical and political needs. Spiros has a keen interest in placemaking and an aptitude for unlocking challenging sites while pushing the boundaries of innovative and sustainable design. A strong narrative and technical detailing are key drivers of his at JTP. Spiros is also part of our Energy Working Group, where he is researching and developing key principles and tools to assist in JTP’s Operational Energy 2030 Target for achieving RIBA 2030 Standards.

Most recently, he is working on a large scale, mixed-use development on a challenging site on Hastings Road in West Ealing. Alongside commercial and private amenity spaces, the scheme will deliver hundreds of Purpose-Built Student Accommodation rooms, much needed to alleviate the local housing demand and free-up HMO properties to larger families. The project will use modern methods of construction, being delivered with 3D volumetric modular methods, which is a breakthrough for speed of delivery, sustainability and quality. Spiros is particularly interested in the technical design and coordination a project of this nature requires.

Outside the office, Spiros enjoys keeping fit and exploring the Mediterranean. He enjoys leaving architecture behind and instead can be found on a Spanish or Greek coast.
