Lucy Bird

Urban Designer
BA (Hons) MSc

Lucy is an Urban Designer at JTP, having joined the practice after completing an MSc in Urban Strategies and Design at the University of Edinburgh.

At JTP, Lucy has assisted with site analysis and the production of graphic materials for Vision Documents, Design and Access Statements and Design Codes on a number of large residential-led projects including Rugeley Power Station and Chesterton, Cirencester.

Lucy's core interests lie in people-centred design and participatory design processes. Her postgraduate thesis investigated community groups working in partnership with the public and private sectors to maintain local urban lidos in south west London.

In her spare time, Lucy enjoys running and swimming as well as travelling and exploring new cities and cultures. In 2017, she spent ten weeks as part of a volunteer team who worked closely with local communities in two rural villages in the Gorkha District of Nepal, helping to construct water tanks and earthquake resilient structures.
