Joshua Cherry

Associate
BA (Hons) MArch PgDip ARB RIBA

An Associate at JTP, Josh specialises in residential design across all scales and densities.

Much of Josh’s work focuses on the regeneration of complex brownfield sites including Daedalus Waterfront, a mixed-use neighbourhood in a historic setting on a former Royal Naval Air Station on the south coast. The project will deliver 200 homes and an enterprise hub made up of clusters of the aviation, marine, innovation and technology industries.

Josh is also working on Arthur Street Estate in Erith. Built in the late 1960’s Arthur Street has since fallen into a poor state of repair and suffers with antisocial behaviour. The regeneration of the estate seeks to create a new high-density neighbourhood that references historic Victorian street patterns and provides new public open space and 320 homes, of which 80% will be for affordable rent and shared ownership.

More recently, Josh was the Project Architect on a large, high-density, urban quarter at the heart of Woking, creating new pedestrianised open space in the town centre which is animated by over 26,000sqft of non-residential mixed-uses and 929 new homes. An array of residential facilities have also been carefully curated to address people’s changing behavioural patterns accelerated by the pandemic, whilst still allowing the new community to grow and evolve.

Josh sits in the practice’s innovative housing group and is also one of JTP’s sustainability champions, helping to broaden our collective knowledge and disseminate this shared learning throughout the practice, as we strive to embed sustainability at the heart of every project.
