Strategic Projects

Eric Holding is an architect, urban designer and published author with over twenty five years of experience. He has lead projects involving urban visioning, production of strategic guidance, design of large-scale mixed-use developments, academic research and publication.

Eric completed his architectural training in the UK and the United States, and holds a Masters Degree in Theories of Representation as well as a Graduate Certificate in Management Consulting from Grenoble Business School.

Since 2006 he has worked in a variety of roles at Battersea Power Station – one of Europe’s largest mixed-use developments – carrying out feasibility studies, executive masterplanning, devising and evaluating architectural competitions and providing strategic placemaking consultancy.

Eric is also currently involved on development proposals for Medina Yard on the Isle of Wight, and placemaking projects in Prague and San Francisco. His proposals for Urridaholt, a new sustainable urban extension in Reykjavik, won a United Nations Silver Award at the United Nations LivCom Awards, an Urban Design Citation from the Boston Society of Architects in the United States, and was shortlisted in the UK for the Francis Tibbalds Urban Design Award.

In addition to being a CABE Built Environment Expert (BEE) Eric is also a member of The Academy of Urbanism, and has taught and lectured in the UK, United States, Australia and Japan. His book ‘Staged Architecture' was The Sunday Times Architecture Book of the Year in 2000.
