Dave Swindells

Dave is an Associate and a Senior Architect at JTP. He has 13 years' experience in architectural practice, with involvement in projects covering both public and private residential, commercial, leisure, office and hospitality sectors, including many mixed-use schemes. He has particular expertise with high density urban regeneration projects and the associated technical challenges they pose.

Recently, he has been responsible for the submission of Brunel Street Works, a detailed planning application for 975 new homes and over 9000 square metres of non-residential mixed uses. This high-density, residential-led development is on a significantly constrained site in Canning Town, bounded by the DLR to one side, a dual-carriageway on the other and sitting within flood zone 3.

Dave is an experienced Revit user and is involved in developing the practice's expanding use of BIM as a collaborative design tool to prepare planning submissions.

Dave is a keen cyclist and champion of cycle-friendly design. He can regularly be found on his bike, whether commuting through London, tackling mountain passes in the Alps or riding round his favourite piece of architecture; the Olympic Velodrome.
