Astrid Guthier

Urban Designer
BSc MA

Astrid’s motto is to ‘Learn. Explore. Innovate. Inspire. Repeat’. She thoroughly enjoys urban research and sharing knowledge, and as an Urban Designer at JTP, Astrid has undertaken numerous studies to better understand how to maximise land and minimise excessive resource use across a masterplan.

Upon research at JTP, Astrid has also worked on the design of multiple new sustainable settlements which promotes zero carbon homes, innovation centres, transport hubs, forest schools, and nature recovery networks.

Since joining JTP, Astrid has worked with the team on an emerging neighbourhood at Mindenhurst, Surrey, providing 1,200 new homes and a range of facilities including a primary school, a sports hub, and a village pub, as well as an urban extension at Land at Three Elms.

Prior to her professional career, Astrid was acknowledged as the Top Performing Student during her Town Planning studies at Cardiff University, before achieving a Distinction in Urban Design where she discovered her true passion in creative placemaking and urban regeneration.

Beyond her professional career, Astrid is enthusiastic about exploring new places and understanding diverse cultures and architectural design around the world. She loves to capture these moments through photography and 3-second films.
