Andrew Dobson

Associate
BA (Hons) DipArch RIBA

Andrew is an architect and an Associate at JTP with more than 15 years' post qualification experience designing residential and mixed-use neighbourhoods within both the public and private sectors.

He has been responsible for the preparation of Outline and Detailed Planning Applications, ranging from small urban infill sites to large scale brownfield and greenfield sites, including high-density, mixed-use projects in London.

These include an outline masterplan for up to 850 homes as part of a mixed-use urban quarter at Wembley South West Lands, a lower density neighbourhood of up to 600 homes and a hospice on a site within the High Weald AONB at Pease Pottage in West Sussex, and the Design and Access Statement and Design Code for a 500 home new community at Kennett Garden Village. He has also led the detailed design of phase four of the multi-award winning Graylingwell Park, a former hospital in Chichester, and a complex infill regeneration project at Camden Estate, in Islington, London.

Andrew has considerable experience of working with local communities at all stages of a project, particularly in relation to the preparation of Development Frameworks and Option Appraisals for the regeneration of large local authority estates such as Sandwell Estates in the West Midlands. In recent years he has used this knowledge to help deliver independent advice and training to a number of community projects as a Glass-House Enabler.

Andrew also has detailed experience of writing Design and Access Statements, Design Codes and bid submission documents.

Within the office Andrew has played a significant role in developing and implementing revisions to the practice’s project procedures and auditing processes as part of the successful achievement of ISO 9001 accreditation, as well as being responsible for co-ordinating CPD events.
