John Thompson & Partners Celebrates 20 Years of Open House
10/09/2012

John Thompson & Partners marked the 20th anniversary of Open House with two events at its London Studio.

On Friday 21 September, JTP hosted a talk as part of the Green Sky Thinking Week, a London-wide programme of events highlighting new thinking and practice in how to 'design in' sustainability.  The aim of the programme is to highlight best practice and thinking: how a sustainable city could evolve, encourage deeper cross-sector collaboration and, most importantly, inform better decision-making through an integrated approach to sustainable development.

As part of this initiative, partner Rebecca Taylor presented JTP's on-going bioclimatic design work, which spans across the world, over a breakfast talk on Friday 21 September from 8:30 am - 9:30 am.

On Saturday 22 September, JTP opened up its office to the public and offer tours of the studio, located in a 1920s converted warehouse that has won six awards, including The City of London's Sustainable Building of the Year 2010.

The award-winning environmental refurbishment demonstrates how existing buildings can be practically improved to perform as highly sustainable offices and incorporates systems, technologies and materials that substantially reduce energy demand and emissions, provide sustainable energy supply and minimise both water usage and waste.
