Triple Planning Permission Granted for Sheffield Housing Company Sites
08/05/2012

John Thompson & Partners are pleased to announce that planning permission has been awarded for all three Sheffield Housing Company Phase 1 Development Sites.

The proposals comprise of 305 new homes across the Shirecliffe, Norfolk Park and Falstaff areas of Sheffield.  The designs are fully bespoke and unique to their location, and are based upon a contemporary interpretation of the key features of the existing architecture.

At Shirecliffe, the design calls for a series of high quality, small scale in-fill developments within the existing fabric of the estate; while at Norfolk Park, the dramatic topography and parkland define a number of distinct character areas on the site; and at Falstaff (pictured), the proposal has been conceived as a distinctive new destination within the existing garden suburb.

A bespoke range of high performing homes have been proposed to meet a wide range of high quality standards using nationally recognised schemes; often exceeding the minimum requirements made by planning policy. The proposals pioneer the use of the BREEAM Communities model to frame these standards, as well as using the Building Research Establishment (BRE) as a quality assurance service.

The proposed developments seek to transform the local housing market by introducing distinctive and attractive contemporary designs that both reflect the local context and will stand the test of time by encouraging further regeneration of the surrounding context.
