Over 400 people participated at the Dream Farm (Drömgården in Swedish) Community Planning Weekend on 16th and 17th of June on the island of Muskö, South of Sweden to develop a new Vision for the 200 ha farmland and forest site owned by Drömgården-Dream Farm International AB.
The dream is to build a farm with consumers, farmers and entrepreneurs so that people's desire to be involved in the countryside and have a country home can be combined with the opportunity to contribute to a better environment.
The first step was the JTP-led Community Planning Weekend where top eco-architects, ecologists and agriculturalist from around Europe worked with Dream Farm members and local residents and farmers on a new Vision for the land.
Dream Farm will offer environmentally friendly holiday living on a farm operated in conjunction with some of Sweden's leading organic farmers and skilled cooks. There will be opportunities to become shareholders in the farm's operations - the consumer will become the producer, part-owning the dairy, bakery or brewery. On the farm members will move freely in the beautiful natural areas and enjoy the fresh food in the farm shop and restaurants.
The houses will be built in eco-hamlets with different styles and sizes. There will be everything from the classic Swedish red cottage with white trim to imaginative tree house and hobbit houses. All buildings must be environmentally friendly with minimum energy consumption and environmental impact.

A beautiful landscape with fresh food, nice neighbors and fun activities, but also silence and relaxation. It should be close but yet far enough away from town. A farm where you can go over the weekend or stay for weeks. Welcome to Dream Farm!"
