John Thompson & Partners (JTP) and Alan Baxter Associates (ABA) have been appointed by the North Solihull Partnership (NSP) to develop a strategic Vision and masterplan for the areas referred to as the Gateway North & South Clusters.  The first meeting of the Cole Valley Regeneration Forum took place on 14 July at 6.30pm at Bishop Wilson School.  Around 100 people participated to discuss the future development and how to take the Forum meetings forward.

The Forum meetings aim to keep the community involved in the development of proposals for the regeneration of the Cole Valley and provide a forum for the community.

This exhibition was an opportunity to find out more about the proposals for the regeneration of the Cole Valley, Chelmsley Wood that emerged at the Cole Valley Vision Community Planning Weekend held over five days earlier this month. People had an opportunity to meet the team from North Solihull Partnership and JTP to discuss the indicative proposals which include improved housing, green spaces, transport and community facilities and find out more about how to get involved in the regeneration process.

The Cole Valley Vision Community Planning Weekend: Updated on 13/05/2010

John Thompson & Partners (JTP) and Alan Baxter Associates (ABA) have been appointed by the North Solihull Partnership (NSP) to develop a strategic Vision and masterplan for the areas referred to as the Gateway North & South Clusters.  NSP identifies these clusters as areas for intervention and regeneration, and the masterplan will set out key opportunities for physical, social and economic change.

One of the main aims of the study is to explore how the River Cole Valley can be reconnected with both Chelmsley Wood Town Centre and the surrounding residential communities.

It is essential that the Vision reflects the needs and aspirations of the local community and the main focus of the process will be the Community Planning Weekend held over the weekend of the 4/5 June 2010 at Bishop Wilson Primary School, Pike Drive, Solihull.  Please look out for more information about this event coming soon.
