Emma studied Town Planning for her undergraduate degree and last year graduated with an MA in Urban Design from Oxford Brookes University. She has a keen interest in sustainability and social cohesion and wrote a thesis entitled ‘Social Cohesion and the Urban Form' which focused on Angell Town housing estate in Brixton. She developed a design framework whereby various physical design solutions were suggested for each urban morphological level, to increase opportunities for social interaction and increase the area's social cohesion.
Emma joined JTP in the Spring 2011, and has gained experience on several large-scale masterplanning projects in China including Suzhou, Liubu, Xinyang and Dong Taihu, as well as masterplans for Chilmington Green and Ridgewood Farm in the UK.
Emma's creativity extends out further to photography with one of her photos exhibited on ‘Flickr's Explore most interesting things'. An avid traveller, she likes to explore the world whenever she can. In her spare time Emma enjoys playing netball, swimming and eating out.
